K98k stock refinish?

Ok so i bought a few k98k mauser stocks awhile ago and 2 were sanded down and left like that. I took some fine steel wool and made them smooth. I was trying to get a blonde color on both so i tested one with Tru-Oil and it came out really nice. Its not to dark or to light. I do like the color alot. But for the other one i want it pure blonde. What type of oil or stain should i use to make it become blonde.

There in the picture are both stocks the one below is the one that has tru oil applied to it. The one on top is ready for oil to be added.

I would use a natural Danish Oil (unstained).

Or good old sunflower oil (the Germans used it during the war).
