I have a Knight's Armament M5 RAS forend (rifle length) and an RRA Standard A4 Upper on order from Questar. The Upper as I've found out is fitted with an HBAR profile barrel (either .850'' or .950'' depending on the model), while KAC recommmends an A2 Gov't type barrel (usually .840'' in diameter) for their rail. Has anyone experienced the same problem, and did you manage to somehow overcome it without a trip to the gunsmith? Thanks in advance.

On fix I have seen with AR10 rifles is to take a roll pin punch and remove the roll pin that holds the locking mechanism, and remove the whole thing. I know with an AR10 the RAS will be held very solid. It may work on the HBAR,of course you could get your barrel turned down to the Gov't profile :)

You should not have a problem - the RAS clips onto the barrel nut - it just take beginners some time fitting the fork between the delta ring and the bbl nut...
