Hey guys,

Looking to purchase a (non-FF) Knight's RAS in the near future and I've been shopping around. In my search for one online, I noticed that there are lots of airsoft copies on the market. Most of them appear to be of the FF models, but I was wondering if anyone's seen any of the fake non-FF ones first hand. If so, what (if any) are the differences in markings between the fakes and the real KAC units? If anyone has high res pics of either or both (the "real steel" and the fakes), it would be appreciated if you could post same. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
hsld.

Btw, I've seen the pics of koalorka's 2007 production RAS (with the improvements and newer markings), so if anyone's got any pics of the pre-2007 units, even better.

I have seen quite a few of the fake RAS units first hand. For the most part they work and fit the gun fine, the heat shield is usually lower grade for sure. Some units have had no markings while others had actual KAC markings. What they all had in common was that they did not fit the real KAC panels, they panels would slide on but would not lock in place, the ladder type units worked fine with them. The fake units always seemed to have a darker more parkerized "feeling" to the anodizing, where the real units were smoother and almost purple in colour. I have both a RIS and RAS, will post a few pics in a bit. I have noticed that real KAC units have come down in price these days from the crazy 500-600 bucks we used to pay back in the day...
