KAC stuff

Ya, come to think of it, I have found some that were tight too.. There goes that theory... Most that I have played with were loose, that was my first introduction to A/S.

Early KAC panels had the Ph# -- the Army asked KAC to remove them since they did not appreciate troops calling KAC direct.

I've seen KAC products side by side with A/S stuff and it is near impossible with some of the more accurate clones --however I weighed a few grips on my reloading scale since they seemed off from one of my KNOWN KAC grips -- the A/S was an aprox 70% of the weight of the KAC one. But - I could not tell the diff by sight...

There are litterally more than 7 companies that make KAC knock offs --

If anyone has both the real thing and the knockoffs, maybe they could post some side-by-side comparison pics for the guys who don't have reliable sources.

If you are going for KAC Know your retailer/source well so you get what you pay for. Otherwise go for some of the other offerings stated in the previous posts.

I own a few KAC products that I know are genuine due to sources I got them from, but I won't buy more from others that I don't know.

I bought an AR a few years back from Rob up in your area Wayne and it came with a Ras that he claimed was KAC.I'm just not sure if it actually was.I know I paid a fair chunk for it so I hope it is.Too bad there's no way to tell.

Bring it by the shop, I can tell. Three years ago there was an epic KAC fraud if you recall...

-- I have a VLTOR upper -- but not their monolithic.
Operations Parts in the US is the best (non KAC direct) supplier of KAC stuff I know - followed by Wes at MSTN.

Neither ship to Canada or APO's though.

Thanks for teasing us Kevin. While I have no experience with Operation Parts. Wes at MSTN is great. Too bad I can't get any of his SPR uppers:(

I notice that there are 2 types, one that attaches with screws and the other that uses a "clamp" any comment on which is better?

not sure --
They have quick attach and non quick attach in two generations
GenI releases both mags when you hit the weapon mag release.
I use the gen II -- it has a paddle so the onboard mag is not jetisoned at the same time you hit the weapon mag release.

I beleive all mine are the "quick attach" - or clamp as you called it

Kev well I guess it could be a colt?Rob said it was an Armalite...and it came with an Armalite lower but it is a 14.5 straight cut barrel. Not sure on the nomenclature. What do you know about it?

Easy way to tell is that the top half of the rail has to be opened up for the Gas tube to pass thru at the Delta ring Airsoft knock offs have no gas tube
