Kal Gun Kote

I'm considering purchasing a revolver that has been refinished with "Kal Gun Kote".

Any one have any experience with this product/finish? Good, Bad, or ????

I think I looked a that one. S&W 586? The barrel length was a big draw but the dull matte finish turned me off.

KG Coatings makes 'GunKote'. I've used the matte black on a TON of different builds, and it's extremely durable and wear resistant.

However - for a proper job, the gun would need to be bead blasted... on a revolver? Not too sure if you could get ALL the nooks and crannies.

I tried the air cure KG Gunkote and it was SHYTE. Prep wasn't the issue either. It just wasn't very durable. I can't speak for oven bake KG Gunkote tho.
