Only source that i can find that sells is irunguns.

Im saving up for a bullup, from old forums the K&M, also known as bushmaster, M17 was just as good if not better than the tavor X95. Less plastic, more AR parts available for the M17

Im curious if anyone has experience with the M17 and the tavor how they go against each other. Only so much on youtube that has info about them but hoping the fine people on CGN have experienced them

Im stearing away from anything keltech right now after hearing some peoples experiences. Im set on the tavor, but the M17 has my attention.

I dont have access to exchanges yet, i think im at the 25 posts mark though.

Your thoughts on KandM M17 bullpup?

KM are a pretty small outfit to be buying such a nichey rifle from IMO (In My Opinion...).

I'd buy the Tavor in a heartbeat over an M17 just based on support. They may not be AR parts, but there are a lot more Tavors in Canada than there are M17s, plus some actual vendor support. I'd probably not buy a Tavor, but if you're stuck on a bullpup, they're probably the best option.

Good point, for parts/mods Tavor may be the way to go just because they are more popular

I had an original Bushmaster M17S in 5.56 and I really enjoyed it. I put a KM arms top rail, brass deflector and had it milled to modernize it a touch. It was hefty but easily 2 MOA with a better trigger than a Tavor. I only sold it because I prefer a normal rifle layout over a bullpup.

I had a Tavor at the same time and sold the tavor immediately. Mostly because of the trigger.

In my opinion, M17 Bushmaster suffers from the same problems as Wk180c. Wasnt designed with reliability in mind, mostly just as a range toy. Nor is there any combat experience for both of those. Tavor, on the other hand, has served with the Israely army, which is engaged in constant military conflicts with its neighbours. Another aspect to keep in mind- take down procedure. I used to have an original m17, and to clean the gas system I had to undo the hex bolts on the bottom and separate the barrel form the reciever( which was a pain in the butt). I dont know if the new M17 has rectified that problem, but I wouldnt touch an old one ever again.

Solid opinion. Something that is proven in combat requires serious consideration.

Ive been eyeing up the K&M M17s for years and from all the info ive gathered, it sounds superior in many aspect to the Tavor platform... in order for more to enter the country, K&M needs to start producing NR barrel lengths again!

I have one of the newer K&M M17S Canadian Versions, and can say at first I had issues with fail to eject, causing stove pipes. Upon disassembly of the BCG, I found that the Bolt had a week extractor spring, and did not have the black o-ring. Added a new spring, and o-ring from AR15 spare BCG parts I had laying around, and it has run flawlessly since. The all metal construction is nice, take down and disassembly is a breeze, 2 push pins just like an AR15. The bolt uses all AR15 springs and extractor parts, comes with an adjustable gas assembly. Will take any AR15 pistol grip that does not have a beavertail (beavertail grips can be modified to fit though). The trigger awesome, rivals my trigger tech in my AR15. Have had lots of Tavor owners shoot my M17, and their first reaction is always "wow that trigger is amazing"

I can speak too much to accuracy as I haven't really tried to stretch its legs but with cheap handloaded 55gr campro plinking ammo I am able to maintain around 1.5MOA at 100M with an Eotech.

If you are familiar with AR15 controls, the magwel and bolt catch are, identical, just moved behind the fire control group. The only con I have found so far, is to remove the barrel requires the use of a heat gun and hex bolts.

As far as suport, the owner Ken can be easily reached by email, usually responding within the day. I lost one of the T nuts for the accessory RIS rails on the side(user error on install) and when ordering some after market parts direct from their website, Ken included 2 new T Nuts and Screws for free.

The only thing I wish the M17 had, was an Ar15 style magazine release reachable by the fire control hand, like the x95 does.
