I wouldn't mind one, or at least an A-91 rifle which it was developed from. It's not the prettiest piece of machinery but probably very functional and probably the only Russian soon-to-be reasonably widely issued service rifle we have a chance of getting.

There is at least one importer working at getting these in already! I wouldn't think producing a semiauto version and adding 2.3 inches of barrel (for nonrestricted status) would be such a big deal.

Keeping my fingers crossed on the classification process.

Anyone know of any recent similar development in the West? I've seen the H&K single use system, but the Russians seam ahead in this area.

Google "DGS Supercavitating ammo", the real question is what have Western naval SF been using for an underwater rifle until now? Even the Chinese deploy an underwater rifle.

Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong... but how many underwater battles are fought in water shallow enough for people? Aren't most sea battles between subs and ships?

I'd imagine combat divers infiltrating or defending a port facility, oil platform or a defended beach would find it handy, as would anyone encountering undersea wildlife or zombies.
