Keeping Pistol Mounted Light Lens Clear?

Anyone out there have any tricks in keeping an X200's lens clean enough to see any light after firing for a while? My old Nitrolon light wasn't bad as it hung out further than the muzzle, but I'm finding with the X200 that the lens is blacked out and it almost needs scraping to clean it enough to see any light at all.

I'm using clear PDA screen protectors on my M3. Seems to work OK. Just trim them to size and remove when they get dirty.

Maybe a wipe with a Bounce sheet? could help with static..
