Hey guys~wondering if any of you have handled one of these, or, have aspirations...lol I visited a CGN sponsor yesterday to see if they had a different gun. (FX-9) I hope to get one, just want to handle one before I make the decision...on how bad an idea it is. :) Anyhow, the FX-9 was an "any day now" thing, but they had a CMR 30 in the rack, restricted. Asked to see/handle it. I'm not one to sh** on any make model except for maybe Ruger 10/22s...but boy...I have a difficult time understanding why anyone would pay that much for one of these guns. My kid's airsoft rifle looks/feels like more of real firearm than this thing does. It is light, but wow...one of the cheapest looking/feeling guns I've handled in a long time. Maybe THE cheapest. Am I missing something, or have I become an almost fudd-like, under 50 year old guy? lol

Were it a $300, non-restricted gun...I'd still be on the fence.

One surprise~the new-ish Ruger PC 9 Carbine. Not an overly handsome-looking thing...but handling/shouldering=I'm impressed. Felt good/solid and I really liked the iron sights. $250 less than an FX-9. Tempting..

You are not alone in feeling that Kel-tec lightweight plastic guns seem cheap..... if the 16" CMR was $300 and Non restricted they wouldn't last long on the shelf.

The new Ruger is a pretty sweet takedown.

^yeah, don't disagree with that one bit. lol However, I still think there are even better ways of spending $300, let alone...over 2X that much! I'm sure they sell though. The Ruger~yeah, very solid thing which surprised me. Feels like a real rifle, much beefier than a 10/22 and as mentioned, I was struck by how much I liked the irons.

You can get the non restricted CMR 30 from irunguns. Yes they are a bit pricey but I think we’ll worth the money. I’ve owned mine now for about a year. Very reliable and lots of fun. Buy extra mags because they are cheap enough and you will go through lots of ammo.
I would definitely recommend getting one.

Keltec has always had the "cheap" feeling. I remeber when I first started selling guns it always blew my mind how quickly Sub 2000 sold out and how much demand there was. Oddly enough, they feel cheap and plasticky, but damn do they work good!

Keltec....the Mecanno guns lol.
I've never seen so many screws and bolts holding together a firearm, their whole line looks like that, I don't think I'd take one for free.

I owned a CMR-30 it was a sweet little rig and I miss it. I put 200rds through it in one outing without any issues, but that is all I put through mine. It felt well built and lightweight. The perfect survival gun, truck gun, or camp gun IMO.

I own both the FX-9 and the CMR-30 and love both of them. I can't believe how light the CMR-30 is. I does not have a cheap feel to it, only polymer is the trigger group like a lot of guns these day. This is the non restricted model form Irunguns

How does the stock on the NR CMR 30 from IRG work? Can you still extend it all the way out but you just can't collapse it all the way? What is there preventing the stock from collapsing all the way?

Yes you can expand it out fully, just can't collapse it all the way, they have a spacer glued in to stop it from collapsing all the way. The spacer has Canadian Edition written on it. If you look at the picture on posted on previous page, that shows it fully collapsed

There is a metal tube glued + epoxy'd in to prevent full collapse, it has "Canadian edition" printed on it (the tube).

I can't get enough trigger time behind this, a great shooter!

My only wish was the PMR never happened for us so we could have full capacity (because rimfire) mags.

Anyone had an opportunity to compare these to something like an FX-9, pr the Ruger PC-9?

The CMR-30 is 22WMR (=22 Mag), the FX-9 and new Ruger PC Carbine are both 9mm. I've handled the CMR and Ruger (I haven't shot either), the Ruger feels like a beefier 10/22..the CMR feels light/cheap. The FX-9 will probably feel pretty solid, being almost entirely metal construction. Can't comment on how any of them shoot, but I've shot other 22WMR semis, and I've shot a Kel-Tec 9mm folding carbine thing. The shooting experience of 22WMR is allot more 22LR-like than 9mm is. No mistaking you're shooting something a little more robust, but it's equally manageable. Most semis are pretty manageable.

I have both the FX-9 and the CMR. I don't find the CMR cheap, but I can't believe how light it is. I can't compare shooting as yet since I have not fired the CMR, but honestly I could see shooting the CMR more than the FX-9
