Kel-Tec KSG to Increase $300 in Price

On the plus side, if it is banned maybe they could come out with a version that has a single mag tube - slim that thing down and eliminate the magazine selector.

What does that mean exactly? Just trying to understand. If it's no good, wouldn't want to waste the money, but not sure what the above statement entails.

I could be setting myself up for some hate... but the "Grizzly" isn't exactly considered a quality product either; owned 2 (didn't learn the first time) both were garbage.
I've not owned a KSG, but did own a Sub-2000 - definitely cheap feeling and poorly put-together. The sub-2000 worked but the sights were so offset that I ended up bottoming out the windage to get it on paper - absolutely unacceptable.

ok, i've noticed you have been quite confused in this thread, so I'll help you out.

The Kel-Tec is a good shotgun, there's nothing wrong with it. Some people just don't like the plastic feeling of the gun, although it does have some weight to it, but it's quite compact for a shotgun that holds 15 rounds.

I had a Kel tec KSG.... sold it for $1200... now that was stupid!
 
@G37...No hatin' here...I also have an 870 and a Mossberg 590A1...of all of them the best was my old DA Grizzly 12.5 (that now resides with my son). It ate everything, never a hiccup. Ugly and brutal but did the job. Truthfully, I haven't had any issues with any of my shotguns except for the new Grizzly I got (to replace the old faithful). Even after all the cleaning/polishing/lubing it still will choke on 3" shells from time to time (more often than not). But that's neither here nor there...we're talking KelTec KSG. All I can say is so far mine has been fine. Not one issue. For me...I'm happy with that. It's doing what I ask of it. Comparing it to the Grizzly probably wasn't the best due to their different price points...but I don't really own another shotgun this expensive (the Mossy BW w/ Knoxx stock is getting there...and it's fine also).

But I should point out that your disliking the KSG because you had a problem with a Sub2K...wouldn't that be like me hatin' a Colt LE6920 AR because I had an issue with a Colt 1911? Just sayin'...
 
Kel-Tec makes some interesting products but I doubt you will find too many serious folks who go in harm's way or are in high stakes competition using any of them.

This is a company lead by a designer who was responsible for the likes of the TEC-9 and Grendel pistol after all.

A lot of folks seem to like theirs', but the large amount of negative reviews and the high prices they charge for some of their products will ensure that they remain a small niche company.

^^This. There is nothing wrong with the gun, some people just don't like that it is made with a lot of plastic parts. I mean, there are still a lot of people out there who hate on Glocks, Benellis etc. because they are "icky plastic".

I might not take one hunting or to a clay competition, but they are fun and interesting for messing around. Of course you are paying a little extra for the "tactical" looks, novelty and engineering that goes into the mag design.
 
I love mine, light and small.... I feed it whatever is on hand without a problem. Took it hunting and did just fine. Carrying it in the bush is a breeze as its size won't snag on anything. Recoil is a push back, very light comparitevly, no sudden jumps. $300 more, well if it's what the market will accept then more power to them. Don't knock it till you've 'played' with it.
