How does the SU16 either stocks; compare to the other canadian semis (180’s in particular) as far as reliability. In its ability to go through alot of use without warranty/repairs ect

I ask cause the price is so much lower

It’s way lighter , less parts to fu ck up and it’ll eat anything at about 2 1/2 MOA.
Only problem was the piston? Blowing through back of the stock.
I heard of a couple back around 2014,2015 with that issue but haven’t heard anything since.
There’s a Keltec Forum that’s very useful.

Neither are very reliable. I have had lots of problems with the Canadian stuff and I have less problems with the keltec stuff. But the Canadian manufacturers quickly fixed anything wrong with my firearm. Keltec I broke a firing pin on a su 16. Submitted a warranty replacement told by the warranty center they made the request for the part but had no eta on it. That’s been a couple years ago fortunately I could order one from numrich and it showed up in a week.

Neither are platforms id currently considered being compatible with "alot of use".... and by "alot of use" im viewing that as in >1000rounds per year kindov use. Considering the cost of ammo that affiliates with that amount of use, it makes more sense to budget for options in the 2k plus price range.

For lighter use applications i do view the SU16F's as being a better purchase due to there notably cheaper price. An overwhelming majority of them seem to cycle very reliably. And the receiver breakage issue seemingly died off pre covid with the gradual introduction of staked op rods in gen 2 uppers. They have rudimentary controls, aint accurate, have limited customization and likely wont survive a tumble off a moving ATV. BUT they are super light, nimble, take 10rnd Stanag mags and are VERY effective at dishing out .223 in a very short amount of time.
