Is it possible/legal to install one of these stocks on a Canadian SU 16F?

It looks like the overall length of the SU 16C while folded is 25.5". The Canadian barrel is 2.5" longer so it should be ~28" long when folded which is above the legal minimum of 26" while still being able to fire. It seems like this would be legal unless I am missing something?

These look like interesting guns, but I would prefer the "C"-style folding stock over the Canadian version.

Why wouldn't it be legal? Even if it made it shorter than 26 inches it would still be legal, just restricted :). And it would be possible to install but I don't think anyone has brought them into the country yet

No, taking it under 26 inches would make it prohibited.

Now, you could build up a PLR16 (pistol version of the Su16) with no problems.

If you cut the barrel it would be prohib. Not sure why you think reducing OAL would make it so.
I think you're getting Canadian and US laws mixed up.

Ok, that is what I thought--possible but just that no one is bringing them in. Because, for me at least, this rifle would lose most of its appeal if it was restricted.

I just wondered if anyone had tried it yet and if it would still be above the 26" threshold. Safe to assume it is.

I wouldn't mind getting one if they came with the 16C-style front/rear sights and folding stock. Not quite as sold on the 16A-style ones.

And, as far as legality goes--I had to look it up--if it is "folded" to under 26 it is restricted but "altered" to under 26 and it is prohibited. Whatever the exact difference there is... "Altered" I guess means permanent? Like that should make a difference?

How is he a troll? He's right. 660mm (about 26") is the OAL limit. I do believe it's only for semi autos although the fact sheet doesn't say so, so on that point I could be wrong.

When the rifle is folded in the picture provided above and with the Canadian 18.5 inch barrels this will make the overall length roughly 28 inches hence this stock is legal to place on 1's rifle. Also no part is ilegal in Canada only when it is assembled to 1's rifle. Now the real question is...
Can you get this part in Canada?

Yep, this is the wording. Heard a few people go by changing to a folder that folds under 26" = altered and prohib.

Personally I go by folder, folding under 26" = restricted.

The correct answer? No one has been in court to find out. So either the RCMP agrees that the rifle w/ folder that folds under 26" is restricted. Or they just haven't charged anyone yet for having a prohibited firearm.

Goodluck trying to get an answer from the CFC, better off talking to the wall I have found.

Is it me thats completely in the potatoes? But from my understanding for a rifle to be non restricted. It needs a 18.5 inch barell the over all lenght ildoes not mather! The 26" oal is for shotguns.... Or is it juts the boose that is clouding me?

booze buddy. OAL matters on all long guns. 26"
Barrel matters on semi-auto center fires only. 18.5"(it may be 18", sorry if that's the case)

470mm, which is 18.503" for minimum centre-fire semi-automatic barrel length.
660mm, or 25.98" for minimum overall length whilst still being able to fire, meaning stock folded or collapsed or what have you.

Looked into this a ton when I got my SU16, its all 100% legal due to the folded combo being well over 26" with the 18.5" barrel on the su16f, but we need someone to bring the stocks in. Keltec will not ship it to me directly for US laws.

I will put money down to get one of these stocks.

Not quite, a barrel of a shotgun can be prohib if it's been cut, even if cut by the police and sold as surplus as my friend found out.
