Kel-Tec su16 vs Robinson xcr

Ive owned both the XCR in .223 and 7.62x39 and shot hundreds of rounds through both and killed quite a few coyotes with the .223/556 kit. Never had a lick of problems with mine to tell the truth. 300 plus yard shots were made numerous times on coyotes with a Millet DMS 1-4. The gun was all metal and pretty solid. It was also exposed to -30 temps and high +20 temps with zero issues.
I briefly owned the Kel-Tec SU-16 and on my 3rd shot it blew my mag out and later found out it was due to punched primers. It went back and Im not going to buy another. The gun felt really cheap, probably the cheapest Ive ever handled that actually fired.
There simply is no comparison between the 2 in my eyes and the XCR, although over priced, just like the H&k sl8, Tavor, Swiss Arms ect...its easily worth 3x the amount just for the fact its all metal vs all plastic. You actually get metal sights, a metal rail, metal trigger guard unlike the SU-16
If you're really looking to buy one,Id handle both, talk to people who have owned both, not just saw those who saw them on some battlefield course or had a buddy own one "who said...."

Cheers!!

Seems like half this thread would rather give up a really neat non-restricted rifle completely and not have the option because of questionable personal opinion. I'm glad it's here, and think anyone who's dead set against the XCR is out of touch. Range only restricteds are not that far from mall ninja'ing, and I say this having owned and built plenty. Having a non-restricted black rifle as slick as the XCR on the market is a blessing, and it's worth three AR's in my eyes as you can actually use it and take it out of your house without permission. We live in a wild country, and it's hard to value guns you can't use out there. If this were the US, different story, but it's Canada and here the XCR rocks.
:agree:n. If ar's were nonrestricted I probably would have bought one over my xcr because ou can get one hell of a rifle for the price of the xcr although something tells me if they were in the same legal classification the prices would be a little more competetive

I'm 4200-4500 rounds through my abused and neglected xcr. No failures yet. And that was in the vicinity of 3800 rounds between cleaning or oiling. I read the threads prior to purchasing it and I took a drop of prevention on every screw and none have budged since.

I routinely remove the barrel and buttstock so it fits in my backpack, takes only one screw for each item. I find it quite quick, easy and handy. I've yet to mount a scope so I can't say if there's much change in poi with barrel re/re but if you properly seat the retention bolt it should be very minor. The key to it will be how consistent you seat that bolt and torque it the same.

Now onto the keltec.... It's so ugly it makes my weiner crawl back inside...
