Hey,

I was curious as to peoples thoughts on getting a Kel-Tec SU16 with the pistol grip stock and optional forend (shown below) as a suitable black rifle. I ask because my next choice would be a Robinson Arms XCR which would be twice the price (I would prefer a non-restricted so an AR-15 is out). Is the SU16 as accurate as the XCR? I read many conflicting arguments.

Also, if anyone has an SU16 with the pistol grip, will the rifle still fold in half?

It would seem that some have had great luck with the SU-16 while others have had problems. I've heard the same about the XCR. I've had great luck with my Su and it's been quite accurate. I zeroed it in at 100m and it would make 1" groups at that distance.

You can't fold the SU in half with the pistol grip but you can get 2 quick take down pins and break it into 2 pieces really quickly or as I've done, get a UTG folding stock adapter and at least fold the stock. I tend to pull both pins and store it in 2 pieces when transporting as it makes more room for my CZ in the same case.

Overall I really like the SU but as I mentioned, others have had problems.

X2 on that forend. Looks like the one on my AR-180B. Am thinking of adding an SU-16 to the collection as well.

A friend of mine (member here) had one. Problem after problem. After dumping a bunch of money into add ons, the receiver cracked. He shoots an AR and VZ now. I highly suggest you spend some extra money and get something else, though to be fair a lot of people have them and they run fine.

The fore end is from an FN FAL. Had to modify it a tad to work but not much. It's nice and slim and works great with the rifle. It fits flush with the Kel-Tec upper rail which is a bonus. Makes it into a flat top.
nice looking set-up. is that the Kel-Tec pistol grip and foreend? or can you use other brands? thanks

The pistol grip adapter in my opinion is a must have. The original stock feels like crap. The magazines that came with it feel like crap. The bipod seems stupid. Decent rifle that has been over priced by the monopoly importers.

It may be overpriced in your opinion but it seems to be on the lower end for cost for a black rifle, especially for one that can accept the 10 round LAR-15 magazines.
