Considering the JR Carbine is retailing in the States for $700 range and the SUB 2000 retails in the same market place for around the $300 range. This should tell you when looking at Canadian retail prices witch 1 is better bang for your $. The SUB 2000 is being retailed over double the price of what it is worth down south. Most everything on the rifle is made from plastic minus a few parts and also make sure that your very patient when you attempting to adjust the sights. Also do to the design of this rifle the mounting of optics tend to be futile. Now for the JR it is only marginally more money up here over the US market place but inturn you get a much more robust system witch inturn means the ergonomics of platform lead to endless possibilities for you to customizing to the owners preference.
Basically I look at these to rifle as you either want an AR7(SUB 2000) or you want a 10/22(JR Carbine)
;)

That quad-rail looks neat for the Sub-2000....:yingyang:
LOL!!!
@ $100 you are better off buying rails and screwing them to the plastic handguards because thats excatly what you end up getting with there after market 20 screws to put your handguard together set-up. As a matter of fact once I seen this I laughed!

Anyone think that non-restricted is a given is fooling themselves. For example, non-restricted AKs became restricted and then prohibited. ARs were non-restricted too (20").

This is silly. Everything may pontentially be prohibited without grandfathering, restricted or non-restricted. The question is what can one go out and buy today that is not restricted and have fun?

Your point is a political one. Clearly we have to fight for our rights.
First thing's first; Conservative majority.
Then the long-gun registry.
Never again.

If the KEL TEC was half the price it costs then it would be worth it it...its def NOT worth the price tag it has IMO. Go with the J R Carbine.

This is a personal choice.
I think the sub-2000 would be worth it, even 200$ more.

The JR is not particularly interesting, especially without sights at the base price.

I was totally not impressed by my keltec sub2000. It was so flimsy and shotty construction. The clam shell construction would twist and separate with a little hand pressure... I'm sure if you took care of it, it would shoot for a life time. For me it is a gimmick-gun for canadians who can't carry a pistol or underage americans who can't yet carry a pistol.

I think I'd buy a beretta storm instead of either.

I got my Sub2000 2 weeks ago lots of fun. It is very cheaply made, the sights are not the best and hard to adjust accuratly. The fold up is neat and will work good in a pack when hunting. Could make a good survival/camp gun.

I do not know if is just mine or standard on 9mm but I was getting lots of black soot on one side of the casings. Very dirty to clean the gun. Did I say it was fun. I just ordered a rubber stock pad for mine $20. adds 1" to the stock.

The JR looks nice it is more expensive, I have not seen one but I know I do not like the feel of a picatinny foregrip. are there different types available
