Hi guys, Just got my new sub 2000 to the range. Had some fun, but I wasn't able to eject a round unless it is fired. I still can fold the gun when a round is chambered (not fired), but impossible to remove the live round from the chamber, absolutely need to fire it.
Does anyone had this issue?
can it be a rough chamber causing this? It was with factory Remingnton 147gr. Is this bullet too long and jamming in the rifling?

Also, I have some difficulties to align myself with the sights, they are too low. I put a cheapo chinese red dot that I had laying on the shelf, will see if it is holdiong zero the next trip to the range...

Will have to find a way to be able to remove this red dot easily, as it is no longer foldable with it.
So far so good, no other issue with the gun, will be pretty fun to shoot once corrrectly customized for me!

Regards,

I use CCI 124 and can eject a round without firing, no problems.

The stock sights are too low, I use a red dot + riser with QD and slapped it on the rails.

Thought about getting the carbo or MI mounts but don't want to spend any more money on this plastic.

First, clean your gun well, then with the gun folded push one of you 147s into the chamber and see if it gets stuck. If you cannot remove it without a tool then you would seem to have something holding it in there. Either dirt or the rifling...

Or a burr in the chamber...

Have you tried getting a small screwdriver under the rim and see if you can pry it out? That'll help you determine how stuck it really is.

Cycling the bolt manually doesn't work?

A burr should be easy to see. It also wouldn't surprise me. I only got four rounds out of my last S2000 before it blew in half when the chamber burst. It was NOT part of their recall.

Yes I do. I folded the gun, and tried to pull out the round with my knife by prying on the rim... I wans'nt able to extract it. Not the best tool and the best position to do it, but I was an indicator that it was really stuck.
I suspect jamming in the lands, as the fired brass eject flawlessly!
Will try to enter a live round in the chamber manually when the gun folded, to try to have a "feel" of where it gets stuck...

Kel Tec reminds me of Pontiac. They make a lot of cool looking stuff that sometimes works depending on which model haha.

Hahaha... as an owner of a Sub2000 (and previous owner of several Pontiacs) this is on point..
I haven't had a round stuck in the chamber, however I've had several FTF and FTE... I think it was mostly ammo related. I bumped up the powder on my reloads and (knock on wood) haven't had the issue since.

Try some lighter bullets with a shorter overall length as your probably into the rifling

I sent my sub2K back to Kel-Tec with a note telling them to keep the pos--and they did! F2F, F2E, magically engaging safety and list goes on. However, your experience may be different.

I have a gen2 and have never had a single hiccup. Feeds and fires everything I've tried without issue and I was impressed with the accuracy. I have made a few upgrades, trigger and fold release mechanism etc as I didn't completely trust the plastic for longevity.
