Hi guys, I recently purchased a Kel-tec Sub-9 (restricted due to barrel length only 16.1")and want to put on a 18.6" barrel to make it NON-restricted. Any ideas out there as to who can make this barrel and install it?

My thoughts so far are Bits of Peices, Ellwood Epps.......any other ideas?

thanks!

Your friend Joe Dlask did some of those, but they are too busy now.
Besides, working on the sub-9 or sub-40 is a #####.
I think you will find someone to do it.
And since they will have the barrel on the lathe between centres, a nice concentric thread at the muzzle for some flash-hider or muzzle-brake (9 mm has some recoil in straight blow-backs, you know), provided that they will install the front sight in the same position (they have to, in order to preserve the locking function in the folded position).

I'm not a lawyer, but probably you know that according to some people on this board, you can use 10 rnds pistol mags.

Hey thanks I appreciate your input! Yeah I'm 100% certain that 10 round mags are no issues as they are manufactured PISTOL mags at 10 rounds.

I'm not sure, you have to ask Barry or Joe.
The work was not done on one of my guns.
But I'm sure Barry can do it.
Actually, I don't think you have to split the receiver in the 2 halfs to change the barrel.
One of my receivers had to be split because of some other work which had to be done.

If you notice, the barrel is held against opening in the forward (pivoting) receiver by a counter-nut (jam-nut, however you want to call it). That also sets the head space, or whatever is left of the concept of head-space.
That is how you re&re the barrel, but let the gunsmith to do it.
