Kel-Tec thoughts after shooting

Had my chance shooting the RFB today, functions alright but accuracy is quite disappointing. The best grouping we could come up with is 2 inchs @ 100M and 4-6 inches @ 200M plus the odd ones went sideways with Sierra MK 168gr Federal Gold Match box ammo, and various hand loads with 175gr, 168gr, 185gr, 155gr. (all is backed up by cleaning and removing copper fouling)

If someone is thinking at this point that it might be the shooters. I can only say that we are experienced, even though I won't say we are experts. But we can normally produce 1/2 groups at 200M with our loads on a TRG22.

Besides accuracy, the gun seems to function alright with not much jamming (i never expected a semi to not jam). The workmanship on the rifle is alright.
I disliked the MAG it use. It's likely the cause for several of the jams.

But I guess after all, the selling point was just being non-restricted and its a bull-pup type rifle. I will probably will want to shoot it again because it's quite fun, but i will not use it for hunting myself due to the weight of it.

* As an update, the above RFB shot is the very first batch coming into Canada, I obtained one myself in May and it is doing alot better. But I will not get into that as there's enough posts here about it. *

Compare it to an AR, 858,M14 and a tavor then get back on accuracy.
It really shouldn't be compared to a TRG22 as it's not intended for the same purpose. 1-2 inch groups are pretty good at 100 if you plan on using it for hunting or bush shooting.

2 MOA out of a piston operated semi is definitely acceptable in my books.

You're not going to get 1/4 MOA out of any semi.

Saying your TRG 22 is more accurate than your RFB is like complaining that your Honda Civic can't go 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

I agree. Shooting my 858 with open/iron sites at 200 yards with cheapo corrosive ammo, I could only get a grouping the size of a dinner plate....and I consider myself to be a pretty good shot.

4-6" at 200m is pretty darn good for a semi, 18.5" barreled rifle meant for close range scenarios.

I am not comparing it to the TRG, I am using it as an example of what i am capable of doing.

Again, I did state that the selling point of the rifle is not accuracy. and I personally expected to have more with CUSTOM loads.
My Robinson XCR is able to do sub inch or better with 7.62x39 hand load and 223 hand loads.

If you ask most shooters with a working M1A/M14 type rifle, or AR-15. They are certainly capable of doingg better.
(BTW, my 858 is capable of shooting under 1.5" groups with custom loads)

But i have to say the trigger is not so bad, even though its not comparable to ARs.

Please read carefully. I am seeking the best accuracy with custom loads. Not just shooting factory ammo or surplus ammo. I was seeking for capability of rifle.

At the beginning the same thing happened to me !

Now I get 1 MOA. with Privi Partisan 150 gr.
Kel tek advises the RFB likes 168 to 175 gr. bullets.

Also - be aware that Kel tek advise accuracy increases after a couple of hundred rounds. I noticed mine getting slightly more accurate as I shoot it.
