I'm thinking of switching to non toxic ammo this year and would like to know if someone tried these shotshells for grouse hunting?

I already have some 12ga(#6) & 20ga(#4) kent fasteel shotshells and I wonder if those will be fine for grouse hunting?

I used Winchester Dry Lock 1 1/8oz. steel #6 last fall for grouse. (ruffed) Killed very well and pounded through the leaf cover. This year I am going to use Imperial steel #7 at 1450 fps. Hot load but good for brush busting birds over the dog. I have an IMP CYL on my Beretta A302. There is no over kill (unless the bird is 3 yards away). Priced around 13 bucks a box at Canadian Tire. Plus Canadian made. Just an another option. I used Federal cheap #8 target lead loads ONCE they are terrible and caused two lost birds. I believe they are marketed as TOP GUN.

For ruffed grouse in my 28 I often use standard velocity skeet loads of 3/4 oz 9's with no issues.
I've also used 1 oz of 6's in a black powder hammer double with no issues, and several other wrights and sizes if shot in all gauges.

I'm sure the #6 steel will do fine if you wish to use it .
With grouse especially we tend to over think guns and loads , they are not hard to kill if you swing on them and hit them where you are supposed to.
I much add that I have used their Fassteel in my 20 for ducks and geese and like it a lot.
