Hey CGN,

I have a regular Kestrel 5700 not the elite ballistics model so mine does not have the custom drag profiles. My question is I want to start getting into more PRS style shooting and am currently have a precision 22LR rifle in the works so am I going to need to do the software upgrade to the elite model to have accurate data with the custom drag profiles when stretching out the 22LR? Or is the data provided on the normal 5700 going to be accurate as well?

Thanks for any insight!

I have the regular model as well and will be upgrading it eventually. It works good out to about 300 yards if you verify your muzzle velocity and play with your BC until your drop matches. Also the MV-Temp chart seems to help quite a bit. Once I get past 300 yards and out to 400 I have to change my BC to get the correct drop. When shooting eley match my 50-300 BC is .146 while my 400yard BC is .123. It can be done but if your planning to do any competition and not just plinking I would upgrade now to get CDM and DSF Calibration.
