Anyone use one of these? How does it compare to the Volquartsen trigger assembly? Would it just be better to buy the Volquartsen parts and do the work myself?
since I broke my wrist a month ago let me tell you I have a new appreciation for light triggers..... the wrist I broke is my trigger pulling hand and the difference between the 3lb trigger on my 10/22 and the 8lb one on my 870 where huge.
not something I normally would have noticed..... I wish I had the 1lb kidd trigger because even the 3lb one was painful to pull.
I believe jayz has one.
as mentionned above they are a different mechanism altogether, and are know to be the best trigger money can buy for a 10/22.... now do you need it, I doubt it. The price tag is steep and I have tried Vq, Power custom and recently Rimfire Technologies (skeeter's) trigger kit and have tuned superb triggers outta them. The bests results I got came from the skeeter package w/ adjustable sear, this will eliminate your creep completely and you can also adjust the trigger pull weight with the help of set screws. I highly recommend skeeters kit. I currently have a 1.7lbs trigger w/ zero creep!!!

I have a Kidd trigger and several VQ triggers.
The Kidd is WAY better than the VQ, even the high end complete VQ TG. It is definitely worth the money.
The sear on the Kidd catches on the end of the hammer, not under the pivot like the VQ. This is a superior design. The Kidd is more adjustable, pulls lighter, the trigger shape is better for consistent pull, it has a faster lock time and is very predictable: you can count on feeling exactly when it is about to break and the weight and effort is consistent every shot. Unlike the VQ, it is a true 2-stage trigger.
You can modify the factory parts to be almost as good as the VQ trigger assembly, but nothing touches a Kidd.
With current exchange rates the Kidd is a bargain. I recommend you order online directly from Kidd, get the paddle style trigger if you have a vertical pistol grip type stock.
