Kimber 1911 Rimfire Traget

I am thinking of getting a Kimber 1911 rimefire target pistol similar to the one Cabelas sell. Does anyone out there own one and can give me some insight, such as
1. what do the eat, do they they like the inexpensive bulk 22 or does it require a higher end 22 like a stinger?
2. Feeding- how do they feed, will you need to have the mags tuned similar to what you sometimes need to do to 45acp 1911 mags
3. How is the trigger? light and crisp? or gritty and heavy?
4. What about Aluminum slide against a aluminum frame?
plus any other insights.

Purchased a used one from Cabela's library. The previous owner was using some type of white grease.
It would not run. I removed the grease and lubed as per manual and feeds fine. Really loves CCI Choot'ems.

Accuracy is slightly better than a Ruger Mk II with 5 1/2 in. bull barrel.

My example works well provided you use good ammunition (CCI Minimags for example). Factory mags feed well in my experience. Most problems I have encountered revolve around using crap ammo. Runs like a top with minimags. Trigger is outstanding.

I have the Rimfire Super,I bought new. I cleaned and lubed it and started it with Stingers (suggested by other members on some or another forum). After about 100 rounds I started to get some FTF's. Re-cleaned and oiled again. After about another 100 rounds again it started running dry...have to re-oil...the aluminum slide needs constant lube. Now that it's broken in, it cycles with anything except sub-sonics. Runs well with even the cheapest ammo I can find. It stills needs oil to run smooth but I couldn't be happier with the gun.

The only thing I don't like about it is the slide doesn't lock back on the last shot. Kind of dumb especially when they went with the 1911 design.

I owned a Kimber Rimfire Super, and it performed quite well. Mine liked the CCI Minimags best, but it also did okay with Remington Golden Bullets.

Thanks for your replies. I am most concerned about the aluminum on aluminum. So it looks like if you keep it well oiled it's ok.

Not quite the same but I am running a Kimber 22LR rimfire conversion on my Ruger SR1911. Now that it is broken in it it will shoot the bulk Federal 525 packs all day long without a hiccup. Not the most accurate ammo but it makes for some cheap trigger time.
