Hi Guys, got a line on a cheep Kimber 8400 Magnum, that has a bad barrel.
I was wondering if anyone knows if they are long enough to chamber a 300H&H in?
This one is a 300win mag(no interest in this)
Just spit balling here, but I have always wanted a 300H&H and thought this would be a great donner action and stock to have a barrel made and chambered in it.

Your on the same page as me for my next build.........300 H&H. Awesome cartridge! I'm sure that the magazine well will be long enough.

You've either got to take the spacer out of the magazine or get a box from a .375. You may or may not need the .375 follower; it'll likely work with the original. The bolt-stop is sufficiently far back for the longer cartridge already. Guys are taking out the magazine spacers to make them VLD friendly.

Thanks Track, Yes I have wanted a 300H&H for a terrible long time, just have not found the right one to make yet.
But this classic select has nice wood, and I think it should make a good candidate. I like the kimber action, and have had a few of them in the past, and still have a Adronidak in 308 as my main sheep gun.
We will see what the winter brings.

Thanks Dogleg, I have read that as well on a few other sites, just had no info on weather the total length was enough.

I'm having a custom 270 Win. being built at this moment by E.M. Precision, otherwise it would of been the 300 H&H. I love the Kimber 8400 Magnum Action but wish to find the prefect Mauser 98, with decent wood, magnum action and double set triggers........most difficult to locate. Best of luck with your build!
