Hi all,

I have a Kimber 84M Montana .308 that I am very fond off. It has given me the odd failure to fire. Most have been CCI primers, recently with a WLR primer as well. I have read on various forums that this was common with 84's of a certain period. I did contact Kimber with no luck and there is no Canadian agent. I am not ruling out slightly undersized brass which would be my fault. Pin indentations are routinely quite light/small.

Wolff make a replacement firing pin spring but there are a few reports of this spring being too wide for some of the pin raceway holes in the 84 bolts. Apprently Kimber used different diameters for pin raceways.

My factory spring OD = .302". I emailed Wolff and they said their replacemnt 84 spring OD = .346". I inserted a 11/32" (0.343") drilbit into the pin raceway of my bolt and it fits.

Have any of you tried the Woff spring in your 84M? Did they work OK? Any issues or things you could share?

Thanks
