kimber Ascent vs Adirondack

Looking for owner reviews barrel length issues?, feel, over all performance and accuracy? Thanks in advance!

Haven't shot either one but have handled both. Gotta say, the longer thin barrel on the Ascent looks weird to me, but that's a look thing so no big deal. Both felt great in hand though. For my use I'd prefer the Adirondack because I like compact bolt actions.

Both great rifles, can't go wrong . I guess it comes down to Bush carry vs Mountain rifle. ... whichever suits your application.

I just received my new Adirondack, it is supper light and super small. Works perfect as a bush/ and or mountain gun. I wanted the shorter barrel, as well as didn't need to pay the extra money for the muzzle brake.
Accuracy is not bad at all. 1inch there abouts.
Also the recoil is less than I expected for a gun this light.

Cant say much about either in the field although have handled an Ascent , and after using my Montana, a bit of barrel gives it balance for actual stand and shoot snap shots on game at 150m or so range IME,.. the shorter barrel could however go either way..
They do feel like 'Toys' in the Store, but a different story 'out there'.

I suppose as mentioned, depends if yer Mountain hunting or Brush bashing.. stand hunting - would it matter?

I haven't handled the Adirondack but I do have a Mountain Ascent. Mine is chambered in 270 win. I wanted a full length barrel. The MA handles very well and balances perfectly. Kimber triggers are very nice, easy to adjust. My rifle weighs 5lb 3oz bare. My rifle happens to be very accurate. They are a joy to carry. I see you are on the Island, if you want,pm me, and you can try my rifle out at the range here in Courtenay.

That really doesn't matter. COAL is standard but from a handloaders perspective the S.A. models I've owned allowed 3.00 seating. That's lots for any short action cartridge.

Thanks a it's a dum question but a guy likes to know for sure before picking up box of ammo

I have the mountain ascent in 280AI and i love it. weights 6lb 7oz with my scope, like said the trigger is easily adjusted and feels great, gun is balanced well with the long barrel and with the muzzle brake on it even with it being so light there is minor recoil. I have not tried my reloads yet in the gun but with factory nosler 140gr Accubonds i was getting 1/2" groups at 100yrds but with the light barrel you deff have to let that barrel cool between shots, I can shoot 2 shots back to back and then i have to let it cool before a 3rd shot.
