kimber gold match ll vs colt gold cup?

looking to buy a .45 in the near future, considering these two, although i'm leaning towards the kimber, mostly because of availability issues with the colt. does anyone have experience with either of these, or better yet, both of these handguns? The kimber appears to be well built and a lot of custom work for the money, but is it as accurate as a stock gold cup? From reading that i have done, most praise the kimber, but not all. It's use will be mostly recreational, but since i have shot silouettes with a m29 in my past, i want the most accuracy i can get from the .45. any poinions are welcomed, cheers!

IMHO both are very good pistols and hard to say which one is the winner
...personally I'd go always for the Kimber !

I've had a few Series 70 and one Series 80 Colt Gold Cups.

Next time I think I'd give the Kimber a go.

I prefer the Colt, but I can't say it will shoot better. I've seen a few GC's that weren't worth the money. - dan

I like the kimber, I owned a tac carry pro II and it was a very good pistol. Cant say anything bad about colt though
