Kimber Hunter

Any good or bad reviews for the Kimber Hunter?

Just seems like a Montana in a cheaper stock. The barrelled action has been around for a long time and is well reviewed, good & bad. For a grand, you're not going to find a true lightweight for much less but Kimbers are finicky in my experience.

I just traded barreled actions with a guy...a Montana for a Hunter. They are the same, my hunter now sits in a montana stock. Its very accurate like all late model kimbers. Feeds great too.

So basically you could by a Hunter and put it in say a Wildcat stock and be a fair bit ahead of a Montana ??

I'm not sure if thats an option or not. The kimber 84m/L actions are so much smaller than anything else. And I don't think wildcat offers a kimber option.

Slimbo, What do you mean by this?

The hunter model has a plastic trigger guard that is integral to the stock and a detachable mag. If you were to try and put it in an aftermarket stock you would need to source out some type of trigger guard/bottom metal.

Gotcha. Thanks.
