Just recieved this bad boy from S.I.R. mail order or is it Cabela's? any way it is top slide and barrel for a 1911 A1 model. All you have to do is remove the top slide and slide this bad boy on top and for the price of 50 rounds of .45 ACP you just 500 rounds of .22 LR. It says right on top of the box for all you that want to know what it is compatible with;
"Fits all .45 ACP pistols with a 4 or 5 inch barrel and single stack magazine. Also fits most any brand of single stack 1911 chambered for .45 ACP with mil-spec dimensions."
So I will be putting this in my 1911 A1 model made buy Norico (by the way perfect fit and finish when conecting it to it).It has everything that you would come to love about these hi-end manufactors such as rear adjustable sight, removable front & rear sights, light wieght and nice carry box to kept it all together. It was $359.99 and taxes plus shipping came in just under $400. Now I know that was the price of the Norico but this conversion kit will save this amount in ammo the first ten times to the range.
So for all you that have to have pics here you go;

You will probably have the best results with high velocity ammunition in order to reliably cycle the action. Enjoy!

Wow. That's awesome.
I didn't even know that a conversion kit that fits most .45-s was available. I'm just waiting for my new Norinco .45, so there is still time to think about this option. A bit pricey (a brand new Ruger 22/45 is $400 bucks) but I like it.
Thank you for the post and pictures.

I like mine,
I had to trim about a 1/4 " off of my mainspring (18 lb) to allow the slide to fully #### the hammer....even with mini-mags it was not strong enough to function 100% but with the spring shortened it's been eating up cheap bulk ammo and the accuracy is as good as the mini-mags!

Range report time!

Target set @ 30 feet away;
Winchester Hollow Point, Lead;
Did not cycle properly & very accurate.
Winchester High Volecity, Lead;
Cycled properly but still lacked in acurracy consitancy.
Federal Hollow Point, Copper Jacket;
Great accuracy but jammed every few shots exiting the chamber.
CCI Blazzer Lead;
Highly accurate & cycled amazingly!
Over all rating out of 5, I would give it a solid 5 out of 5 with CCI Blazzer!
This conversion kit worked wonderful and with out a hick up. I would recommend this to any novice or constant plinker. This is one fun gun that you won't get tired or fall in debt over.
Happy plinking and enjoy!
