I went Christmas shopping in Naniamo with my wife yesterday and stopped in at the 'Candy Store';), (WSS) to pick up some .22 target ammo to feed my recent acquisitions, four target .22s. Prior to purchasing the .22s, I purchased a .45 ACP Kimber Super Match II with all the trimmings.

At the 'Candy Store', one of the handguns they had on display for sale was a Kimber Gold Match II, for $1800.oo if I remember correctly. After checking the Kimber website, I called Kimber to clarify a few points of interest.
  1. The price of a Gold Match II,;)in the land of milk & honey.
  2. What level of loads my Super Match II is made to handle or what their recommendations are.
  3. What is their price on my Super Match II.
Their answers;
  1. Gold March II, $1359.oo.
  2. Loads for the Super Match II, any factory loads over the counter.
  3. Super Match II, state side, $2226.oo:eek::eek::D!!
Merry Christmas to me:D!!

So if they were asking $1800 for a US MSRP $1359 gun, what did you get the US MSRP $2226 gun for?

With the original plastic case it comes with, plus three mags, a soft carrying case and the factory shot testfire target from their custom shop, I paid $1200.oo for it. In the phone discussion earlier with Kimber, apparently the gun has to shoot within 1" @ 25yds before it leaves their custom shop. The test target shows that it did. Oh, I'd say it's in 98% condition:DLike new!

I have a kimber team match 2 showing up tommorow. All in price including shipping, tax and a spare mag is 1725.Thats about 400. less than a major sponsor on this site.I would have loved a super match but so expensive. You did extremely well even for a used gun. There was a used sm on the ee for 1700 just a week or 2 ago.

:redface:Getting the Kimber, I kinda' got caught up in the moment.

A couple of years ago I purchased from his estate, a Colt 1911 accurized by a fellow club shooter, friend and gunsmith. From the estate of another buddy that recently passed away:(, I purchased a S&W model 4506. Then, along came the opportunity for the Kimber. I wasn't all that up on Kimbers but I knew it was decent quality, the trigger pull was the sweetest I'd ever tried and when I heard the price,:redface:I thought what the hell and bought it.

Since then, I find out the deal was far better than I had even hoped for. As we speak, I have 150 brass being polished in RCBS Sidewinder in preparation for some paper punching loads:D.

WHAT IS HAPPENNING?!?!?!?!

There is something SHOCKING here all right.

Or rather...there ISN'T something here and it's shocking.

I AM SHOCKED!!!

Agreed. If Johnn's pics don't have Mr. Moose in 'em, they didn't happen. (Or is he in the midst of switching to a turkey for the Christmas season?)
Doesn't stop me from being insanely jealous, though.

;)I'm slipping and I apologize for that:redface:and I'll try and do better in future:p. :eek:Perhaps the years are starting to take their toll!!;)

;)I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was:p.

Kimber Super Match II

Nice pistola.

I think there's one for sale in the EE right now if anyone else happens to be looking for one.

NAA.

I've had a 'number' of 1911s over the years and presently have three. The trigger pull on my Kimber is second to none!! Not just a 'questionably' noticeable difference but a distinct and easily apparent difference. Just in the process of 'cranking out' some 200gr paper punching loads. All I need now is;) a favourable weather change.

I love my Kimber! I just trade my Browning Cynergy(dust collector) for a Eclipse Target at Shooterschoice and am happier than a pig in sh1t! I love the trigger it is sooo smooth and precise. My only complaint and its not really a complaint rather a good thing is that the tolerances are so very tight!
