Kimber SVT .22

Eagleye is on the mark. There are no reasons, technical or otherwise that will cause a .22 to do damage to any reasonably constructed scope. Yes, the double whiplash of an air gun, and then usually only a PAL required one MAY rip up a scope, but those of us who have had everything from a Bell to a 6.5-20 Leupold? on a .22 have had no problems. Hey, if you want to hit something you gotta be able to see it I guess, although I could sure use more customers like Epoxy7 in my shop!! Shoot and be happy bud....

My local gun shop has definately noticed that I have expensive taste. Oh well you only live once. Also I've learned that it's better to buy the better item even if it's more expensive rather than settling on the lesser product and having to buy again. Or having buyers remorse.
At least that's what I tell myself every time I pull out the wallet :redface:

I have one on each of two rimfires, a 541T Remington, and the other is on my Finnfire. I LOVE this scope on a rimfire!! Clear, and focuses down to where you can shoot 25 yards or less without any parallax at all. This is the way to capitalize on the potential of an accurate rimfire rifle. Bit spendy, but worth it in the long haul. You'll never hurt this scope on your rimfire, and after using it for awhile, nothing will ever be the same. Regards, Eagleye.

Now which reticle? Fine plex or the varmint one? Varmint one is nice with the wind deflection and range lines. What's your take on the two?
 
After 46 years of shooting rimfires this is about the stupidest remark I have ever seen "If that scope is not made for rimfires, you may want to reconsider. Rimfires are harder on scopes than large bore"
Please explain how you can make such a statement.
The only thing with rimfires are the parallax should be readjusted.
Having said that the scope in question has an adjustable AO so this is not needed.
Also all Leopold scopes will take anything any air gun can dish out check the web site.

Please go back to the CLUES closet and get some.

Just a misunderstanding. No doubt continued thanks to the internet.

I'll probably have to wait a few months before I can even scope that Kimber. I have a total now of 4 rifles that need scopes, including the Kimber. I hope they'll cut me a deal if I order all 4 at once.
 
Actually someone in a sports store (forget where) told me the same thing about 22s. Personally, as it is one way recoil, I cannot see how.
P.S. I don't shop there anymore!!!!

That sales person was probably just trying to help you out. Coincidentally they were having an inventory reduction sale on air gun scopes :). It was almost your "lucky" day. :rolleyes:

Both mine have the fine plex. However, I have another 6.5-20 on a long range 6.5mm Rifle. It has the 30mm tube and the Varmint Reticule, and I really like it. When I buy another, I will probably choose that option. Regards, Eagleye.

I'll probably just go for the varmint reticle. I have a burris ballistic plex on my .22 and love how it works. When you can consistently hit the gongs at 200 yards it's always good fun.
