Kimber Warrior or Springfield Operator TRP?

The Warrior is designed as a simple field strippable upgraded 1911. The TRP requires a small tool to strip it. I have had customers get the TRP and never stop #####ing about how annoying it is to strip. If this type of thing bothers you, you may want to reconsider the TRP.

Special tool? you mean a staple?. I have a 1911 like that Bull barrel, and all I need to use to strip my gun is a staple. I dont find it that hard to strip.

I still would get the TRP over the Kimber.

Many folks aren't as clever, or don't carry staples

If you are looking at a kimber warrior check out questar they got them at 1500.00 can vs 1849.00 from TSE .Questar is not even buying them direct from kimber they are buying them from a kimber dealer in the usa .Looks like TSE has been going a little Phat on the mark up .

Will Questar do warranty work? Does Questar even carry any Kimber inventory? Can you go to their store and handle a Kimber? Or test fire a Kimber? Or do they order it from their US dealer when you order it from them and then the 4 month wait while the export permit gets worked out?... A business can afford to sell on skinny margins when they have no overhead or money tied up in inventory.

I'm not saying this is the case here, but you have to wonder whenever you see a difference in price like this.

Kimber's price in the US is lower because they have to compete /w ALL the other 1911 makers.. and the volume they sell....

but as stated above, good luck getting warantee work done....

fyi. i had a product that TSE distributed, and when i had a faulty part, they shipped me a replacement part right away, that's something not may shops can/will do.... good luck dealing /w the US store for a warantee part...

While we're on the topic of Springfields, has anyone here had the opportunity of handling a Professional? These come out of Springfield's custom shop and cost big $$$. Is any dealer carrying these in Canada?

Springfield...

For Springfields in Canada contact Ryan or John at Wolverine Supplies in Virden, Manitoba.
I have bought two guns from them in the past couple of years.

Don't need to. There are boxes of them above the middle lane in both pistol ranges. ;)

Oops, Brainfart. I didn't check the year on the last post. My bad.

wow, a 1 year anniversary BTT..I like it!

still haven't gotten a 1911...though I am leaning toward STI or Wilson Combat now :)

I know its an old thread but I prefer the design of the Warrior. The full length rail on the TRP makes it look a bit too bulky. Nevertheless, I almost scooped up a used Operator a few months back but wound up getting a Custom TLE II. Solid piece and its my first gun... can't wait to go shopping for more 1911s in the future.

Bah once you showed me how to it was just another strip procedure. I shoot and have to maintain a CZ so a 1911 variant is no real problem really. You just need a large paper clip and your good to go.

As for the Warrior, thats what it really is a 1911 variant after handling the TRP Operator. Everything else is just plain jain next to it hands down.

I would rather have a race 1911/2011 so it is for sale. 800 total rounds threw it taking third in a fun ipsc alberta match with it along the way.

If you can find a TRP Operator I would recommend it over the Warrior. My only complaint is your hands will remember the range sessions a day or so after lol.
