Hi CGN....

Not sure if this is the right board to post this on, I'm still sort of new here. Bought a King Competition shotgun caddy for IPSC matches and first impression is pretty bad at the moment.

I ordered directly from King Competition and the package shipped quickly. I received the Caddy on February 9th. I took it out of the box and set it up on my belt on the 10th.

I started loading some dummy shells into it to test it out and it immediately broke apart. (Pics below)

After the failure, I loaded the rest of the belt to see if any others failed and it's only the one. I could simply glue this, but seeing as this is a new product (and we pay enough for them) I don't want to have the glue fail and then have no option for manufacturer replacement, as this is obviously a manufacturing defect.

I immediately went to the King Competition site and filled out their contact form explaining the issue (On February 10th).

I gave it a couple of days to get a response and heard nothing. I went back to the website to look around again and I saw their terms and conditions page has a separate email for product issues (kingcompetitionproducts@gmail.com). So I emailed that on February 12th (around 1PM Finland Time).

It's been a couple of business days over in Finland time since then and I still haven't received a response. Has anyone dealt with their customer service? How long should I expect to wait for a response?

I would think you are. It's a brand new item, purchased directly from the manufacturer. They were quick to take his money and such, and then radio silence when it's discovered defective.

I mean, a used purchase, sure. but its supposed to be brand new. I would be ticked off too.
Right, but there's either warranty or there isn't. I can understand posting here if they tell him to pound sand, but not responding to an email for a few days...calm down,

If there is warranty, this is a non-issue.
If there is not, let us know, but this post is neither.

I'm asking for other people's experiences. I'm not bashing the company. I tried searching around online and saw nothing about customer service experience from them, be it good or bad.

Should waiting 1-2 weeks for warranty be acceptable with this company? Or should I expect to never get a response?

Their terms and conditions state that if you receive a defective product, you have 14 days to notify them. The 14 day period is running down the clock. Wouldn't want them to come back and say I didn't contact them in time.

Not sure how that would be an issue.

Seems like you purchased directly from King and informed them that you had an issue pretty much immediately after taking delivery. The email is your proof that you were within the time limits specified.

Yes. Still what I want to understand is if I should actually expect them to warranty this, or if I should just full send it with jb weld right now so I can use the caddy instead of waiting.
If it wasn't nearly $700 to get this thing to my door, I'd have glued it and forgotten about it.

Before any gluing attempts I would call them (if they are not responding to email)

Looks like nice gear but if it has broken easily that is cause for concern.

It was between these and the Magload for me and I went Magload.

All manufacturing has defects from time to time.

I have only seen or heard good things about both magload and king competition. I decided to go with king competition because I got a good deal on the speed belt used so it made the whole setup a lot cheaper than magload because I only had to buy the caddies.

Well, calling is definitely key. Their email contact options on their website are out of date.

I remembered that I was able to make the long distance call from my work phone without incurring any additional charges. Not really supposed to use that outside of work purposes but 🤷

They are shipping new parts out to fix the problem. 🙏
