I was shocked to hear about King today. I live in NS and hadn't heard of them before; are they worth the price? anyone have one and can give a review? thanks in advance.

I have a chance to buy a like new presidential long range for 650$

oops I should have searched before I posted, there were a couple threads on them back in 09 that trash them as Chinese crap...I may hold off on the sale pending more research.

I wouldnt touch one even if someone gave me one... Over priced crap... Its bad when long range shooters, or businesses wont touch them.

As I recall, one of those threads was probably the longest thread on CGN, running for dozens of pages.

I'm amazed that they're still in business. Many products get their share of bad reviews (rightly or wrongly) but the drubbing that KO got here should have proven lethal :) Even very level-headed P&D Ent. dumped on them, if I recall correctly.

Oww in the heck did I miss this king awptic feeyasscoe?...............

???? How indeed. Here's the longest thread (2009-2015. 172 posts) Fill yer boots!

One of the last posts was (as I remembered) from P&D, replying to someone dissing Sightron:

Please don't go off topic like bad mouthing a solid line like Sightron (not even in the same league ) as I quite enjoy a good laugh about King Optics and can't wait to hear what they are up to recently. Phil.

I had a chance to buy one a couple of years ago. It went back for warranty and the fellow tried to sell it to me. I passed due to a bad reputation. I picked it up and thought a boat anchor weights less. I like to support local but I won't even take a free king scope.
I d rather have a basement model Tasco.

'Ryan & Helgie' endorsed this product!

"The strongest riflescopes available today."

"We beat it on trees. I drove over it with a truck, on a gravel road..."

For some reason, "Ryan and Helgie" made me think of the old Life cereal ad (actually from 1972, not 1985)

"You gonna buy one?"
"Nope... YOU buy one"
"I'M not gonna buy one!"
"Let's get Ryan and Helgie- THEY'LL buy one"
