Is there anyone in the Kingston area hunting coyotes and/or groundhogs that is willing to take somebody out? I'm not new to hunting, about 20 years now, but I don't know anywhere around here to go and there are no good coyote/groundhog areas where I do hunt in the fall.

some big coyotes out Kingston way. I can't see why any deer hunters wouldn't let you coyote hunt their property in the winter. All the ones around here say sure, and when I only come once a month they give me crap for not coming more often!

Take a drive north of the 401, do some scouting, knock on doors to ask permission. The answer will be yes nine times out of ten.

Good hunting

+1 on this...tons of prime farm land!! I find that varmint hunting is a great way to get to know land owners/farmers, that way when deer season rolls around, they remember you and are more likely to give you permission to take a deer.

Groundhogs are practically an endangered species in these parts, one rarely sees them any more. It is my opinion that the fishers have pretty much done in the groundhogs.

I believe you are getting sage advice. Knocking on doors is a tried and true method of getting hunting permission. Asking on the Internet for somebody to share hunting land may not be quite as fruitful.

Good luck to you!
