Kitguns or Gunkits, the importation of?

I asked a dealer in this province almost the same question and he indicated that it was just too much trouble to bother with. I don't know if that was there was no demand, or that Customs couldn't make up their mind if a gun kit was indeed a "firearm".

no problem
track of the wolf will ship them up
no import dutes
no import license needed
you will get charged sales tax
not sure when exactly it gets registered
on source said it gets stopped at customs for registration
another said it comes straight thru in the mail

Don't confuse percussion with flintlock. Flintlocks are not firearms under US law and basically not under Cdn either - you may have to convince customs of that, but otherwise order away and enjoy. PERCUSSION arms however are fully regulated (unless bona fide antique, then less fully regulated), and are no different from import than any other modern firearm, kit or not.

flintlocks come straight thru unless they are pistols

unclear on percussion guns
one story is they just come by mail who collect the tax
you then register
the other story is they are stopped at customs and you must register them
before you can pick them up
see what happens when mine arrives?
