I recognise where some of those photos were taken!

The shooting one where most proberly at Trentham Camp where there was a competation range!

Did anyone notice the Carbine?
 
Yea a nice nO. 1 for sure.

I also agree with you Riflechair. If ever I left Canada I've always said it would be for New Zealand. It seems like the only place other than Canada with anything to attact me.
 
I have to agree, New Zealand seems to have a lot going for it - similar history to ours, similar cultural values and a much more reasonable approach to firearms ownership.
 
I have a very soft spot for Kiwis, I dated one for awhile, she was working at the High Commission here in Ottawa some years back, an extremely nice young lady (we were both in our mid twenties, didn't know until then that career diplomats started foreign postings when they were that young). I met her in a bar and noticed that while she was ordering drinks, her accent was not that of England, but not that of Australia either... sort of inbetween. So naturally it was an excuse to go ask her where she was from. :p

She was from Christchurch. Not that there's any "big cities" in NZ, I don't believe they have any sh*tholes like Toronto there (did I say that out loud?)

Well I guess I know why the Aussies call Kiwis "South Pacific Pommies"... NZ folks are very civil people. Note the lack of violent crime (at least, compared to we Canuckleheads).

If you want a real eye-opener, check out how the Kiwi violent crime rate is a little more than HALF of ours. The homicide rate per 100,000 is almost identical but everything else is extremely low compared to Canada:

And we worry about kids ruining their hearing with rock music and iPods. Nothing like 35 or 40 rounds of 170dB at less than 2 feet! I'm amazed that veterans can hear anything at all.

Well if you buy into that "region" crap that they also push on us here in DUHttawa...
Over 1 million people in the Auckland "region". Which is one-third of the population of the entire country.
We also have over 1 million people in the Ottawa region. But Ottawa is anything BUT a big city.

But wait now, the main thrust of my statement is that NZ doesn't have any s**tholes like Hogtown.

While I wouldn't rate the GTA ("Toronto region"), with a population of 5 million people, a s**thole, I certainly would (and do) openly spout that areas like Jane and Finch are. And have been for at least the past 20 years, because I used to frequent the Big Smoke that many years ago.
 
They sure gave the German paras a beating on Crete, read about the retaking of Galata. Let down by higher commands again.

Amazing thieves...I mean scroungers, too, you can tell by all the neat kit they dragged home from the wars.
