just got back from CTC with 2 knight and hale calls.

translator deer call. you slide the tube in and out to your preferred sound from fawn to mature buck. great idea and looks great but...

1)the screw thats suppose to hold it at the proper setting isnt even long enough so its totally useless and the sound tube moves freely.

2)it came with the doe bleat sounding like a buck and the fawn sounding like a doe. the sounds are horrible even after tuning.

for $25 i expected a good deer call.

i also picked up an EZ gravity bleat. the damn thing doesnt even work 99% of the time and when it does, it sounds like a fawn dying?

$50 for 2 calls and they both suck ass. taking them back later today for a refund.

whats a good gravity doe bleat and adjustable deer call?

Primos "The Can" is the best bleat call out there.Anything by Primos for that matter.

I met Will at a sportsman show in Boston a few years ago.Very down to earth guy.

HS True Talker is what I use. Comes with Buck, doe, yearling and fawn. Works great. It is a reed caller, with a long tube, and I have been using it for 3-4 years now. Works great in the cold too.

I use the primos big bleat can and the MAD calls grunt snort wheeze. Using these two calls today I got my self surrounded by 6 coyotes that were looking to make breakfast out of me......lol....did not come into bow range I watched them for about 15min before they left. I ran 1km and got my 22mag and foxpro I fired up the distress call but they never returned...:( wont be seeing any deer for a few days now.

QuakerBoy brought out one of the best grunt tubes I've heard called the Brawler.

They also has the squeezin Bleat that allows more running time while bleating after all other companies followed them with the turn over bleat calls...

I haven't had ANYTHING to do with those carpetbagging frauds for more than 15 years ever since I saw two different articles on them - one in Bowhunter and the oter in White tail stradegies.
Same two deer, same to con men, one pic in full camo and bows, the other in orange and guns.
Two different articles , but posed with the SAME two deer.
In fact, if you look at the pick, there is a big post holding a game fence in the background.
There was a glowing article in each on how these two mugs either were superb rifle hunters and callers or superp bow hunters and callers, depending on the magazine they were in - HOGWASH!!
I'd rather use Lohman calls, and Seery Lister, those people are ethical hunters.....

x2 . The Knight and Hale grunt call reed always stuck after three or four grunt.

Knight and Hale calls are garbage.

I'm not saying they're great, because I have myfavorite calls, and they aren't Knight and Hale, but I will say that using a Knight and Hale bleat can last year alone I managed to call in whitetail bucks that ranged in the 130, 140, and 150 class. I prefer a Big River grunter, a Quaker Boy or Primos bleat can, and a Lohman rattle box, but the Knight and Hale can did the trick for me last year. Another note that I've had an estimated 3.5 year old buck come right up to my decoy grunting constantly that sounded nothing like my favorite grunter. I have a K&H Translator as well and that particular animal sounded like the Translator set at about half way between the DB and FB markings. Not every animal sounds the same, but the most important thing is that you have confidence in your call, and that your call is working, even if you don't see anything. The next wall hanger could be just out of sight in the safety of brush, looking to see who's in his territory.

you're only saying that because you have to :D:p

i ended up picking up a primos big can doe bleat and a buck roar with challenge wheeze grunt tube. both sound great to me. i also picked up a lil dog open reed predator call. its gonna take some practice with that open reed but it sounds like it will be worth it.

knight and hale emailed me saying they will send me 2 new replacement calls. ;)
