hey guys, ive managed to get hold of a KAC RAS for my m14 , got it cheap of someone who didnt need it.
just want some feedback on them .. any good ? mounting issues?

Firstly you need to determine if it is an Airsoft or real. I have one of each and without taking out the guages, the optically look the same. The difference is in the tolerances and fit. My KAC fits no problem and has not issues. The Airsoft makes contact with the oprod and is slightly off when mounted due to the relationship to the long arm and the scope mount hole on the side.

The problem you will have is determining if it is fake. The markings are copied as well....so it very hard to determain a fake one...

I have two of the real deal made in the USA KAC RAS and like them.
Other than being sure your RAS is not a clone you need to know it only works with a standard profile barrel.
Take your time installing the RAS and don't over tighten the top screw.

I have one mounted on a USGI synthetic with RRM and have rails @ 3, 6, 9 and 12.
I will mount a scout scope out front on the one pictured and I may end up with a traditional scope with the stripper clip guide mount on the other.

ok, appears to be a fake.. armament is spelt incorrectly .. luckily it wasnt expensive.. so my next question as i cant find anywhere that sells KAC in NZ .. and rare as hell to come by.. any chance of getting one from over there?

KAC is rare as hell everywhere these days, military consumption gets first priority, and with the current situation there isn't enough KAC production to fill demand. Wait and watch the various boards is the best bet.
(Actually, not just KAC and the like here, lots of stuff seems to be backordered at suppliers these days)
