Knowing what stock to buy

I just bought my first lower reciever and lpk but now I'm not sure to do about the buffer tube and stock.
I've noticed most stocks come in commercial and mil spec, I'm assuming mil spec is the way to go. Also I was leaning towards getting an adjustable stock but I don't want one that will be flimsy and move around, any sudgestions?
 
im still waiting for the transfer to go through on my first AR purchase so im really new to black rifles but my understanding on stock is not a matter of which one is the way to go but rather which one will fit on your firearm. mil-spec stocks will not fit on commercial or vice versa. i bought a DPMS Oracle and i believe it is commercial so i cannot buy a mil-spec stock.
 
A mil spec stock will fit on a commercial buffer tube, although it will be loose. A commercial stock will not fit on a mil spec buffer tube.

A mil spec buffer tube is the way to go usually as the threads are deeper (technically higher). Although both will fit the receiver.

The magpul ctr stock locks in place to tighten it. Others can be rather snug like the LMT sopmod stock.

Aside from that it's personal preference.
 
Go with mil spec tube. There is no reason not too that I can see. mil spec stocks are a dime a dozen and you will get good lock up with a mil spec stock. If you want as close to zero movement in an adjustable stock the magpul ctr and str lock up solid with the locking latch. I've had both and prefer the lock up of the str to my lmt sopmod stock.

Other way around, brother. Commercial tubes are slightly larger than milspec. Commercial will fit on milspec because the commercial stock will have a slightly larger inner diameter...1.168" vs 1.148" of the milspec. This doesn't mean that "it fits"...keep commercial tubes and stocks together, and milspec tubes with milspec stocks. That's the only way to make it work properly.

As mentioned, both will definitely fit your lower, and the two stocks mentioned will work perfectly. I run LMT SOPMODS on all of my rifles, and they are a nice, tight fit...no rattle or wiggle at all.
