My numbers are just from a phone-call, and I don't have an 870 to measure with so I estimated the receiver length, but it appears that putting a Knoxx folding stock on a 14" 870 would result in a 25" OAL.

Extended the folding stocks have a pull of about 13.75 inches

If anyone has the exact dimensions of a Remington 870 receiver that'd be handy. I'm working with the estimated 6.75".

With both designs sights can be viewed, but specops folder is probably preferable for cheek-weld.

CopStock folds 3" longer than receiver, as it has a longer stock and a shorter mount.

SpecOpsFolder folds to a length 4" or 4.25" (if the fixed point on the back is counted) longer than the receiver, with a longer base and more streamlined look.

so how long is the shottie without any stock? wait you don't know....... hmmmm

I don't think you can pull off a 26" OAL on a 14" with a folding stock

ok so a 18" 870 marine magnum OAL is 38.5"
-4" for barrell length
-13" for stock

= 21.5"

so you have 4.5" to make up for. pushing it.

I'm assuming you want to know whether you make the 26" OAL.

FWIW An 870 comes out at 26.75" (14" bbl) with the Knoxx Breacher's grip. of course the Breacher's grip has the little extension for the QD swivel so i can't speak to the folded length with folder. Mind you that means that compressed in recoil the OAL may be a bit less than 26". however I don't believe that the measure OAL is measured while in recoil. I can just see a demonstration in court! :D

I have a 8 1/2 " Barrelled 870 that comes out at 29" OAL with the Remmy plastic stock.:D I eyeballed it & beleive it would still make the 26" even with the copstock :)

Does anyone have recommendations or pics of a 14" with a folding stock that has has a permanently affixed barrel extension?

Seems it would be trivial to have something welded onto the front to give a 26.1 " OAL.

JohnC how did you figure out the length with breacher grip? I'm quite confident that the grip will be legitimate, because the grip is not designed to allow a gun to be fired while collapsed. I'd suppose you'd have to remove the recoil spring.
(c) a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise, or

23/4 there that thread is what got me to go ask the Knoxx people. But your math has be utterly baffled.

it was an estimate. I tried!

an 18" 870 is 38.5"

subtract 4" from the barrel (because it was 18")

Subtract 13" for rough estimate of stock length

walla 21.5" long

To make the the OAL of 26" you need to gain (roughly) 4.5"
