Does the stock slide forward and backward on the metal adapter which attaches to the shotgun? It looks like the two are mated on rails and theres a pin holding it together.

Mounted one on a FABARM using the SJ 870 adapter but the trigger reach is just too damn far... any way to remedy this?

Thanks

Mine seems to be all plastic. The metal adapter for mine is specially for the Fabarm--I'm not sure you'd need it for an 870.

Hi guys.
The S&J Hardware adaptor plate that you talk about is for the fabarms so you can use the remington 870 model of Knoxx stock on the fabarms.
There is no way to make the trigger pull lenght any shorter, we tested it with many people before we put it into production.
All but people with really small hands found it easy to use.
The back of the fabarms shotgun is flat, unlike many shotgun, so there is no way to bring the stock in closer.
If you find the trigger pull a little long, try riding the grip higher, ie like shooting a 1911.
We see people at the range with pistol griped shotguns, holding the grip low, this would make for a longer trigger pull.

I purchased the adapter and Knoxx stock for my Fabarm and am disappointed with it. It just doesn't fit properly, the gap between the trigger guard and stock is too much. My hands are small but it shouldn't matter, obviously the Knoxx stock that's made for Remington is not compatible with Fabarm and the adapter is not doing much.

The adaptor is there to allow the use of a recoil reducing stock. There is no way around that as the stocks are not made for the Fabarm guns. We use this set up on our range SAT8 gun and even smaller women are able to shoot it fine, however I am sure that there are folks somewhere that will not be able to.
Fabarm does have a non recoil reducing stock that fits a little closer, and has the gap filled. They are significantly more expensive than the Rem 870 stocks though.

The operative word is "Adapter".

Any time you need one you are compromising the original design intent of the product.

Consequently, there is a good likelyhood that the adaptation will result in less than 100% success.

It looks like in your case (small hands) this attempt does not work. In many other cases (larger hands) it probably would.

Given there appears to be no other low-cost option for your particular shotgun your options are limited.

I can appreciate your disappointment (we've all had our own) but one can't blame the adapter. It did the job it was designed to do.
