Has anyone tried a Kobra red dot sight on their black rifle? I handled one the other day and they sure seem "over built" and very rugged. The small dot looked good for precision shooting. Best place to buy in Canada??

Red dot optics and "precision" shooting are not conducive to one another. The advantage of the RDO is speed. If you're cool with the level of accuracy that can be obtained by a RDO than I would suggest an EoTech or Aimpoint. The Kobra might be fine for light use and pampering, but the other two have solid reputations.

Having owned an AK and a Russian SKS, I would be quite surprized if the Kobra was not also built like a brick crapper. I am sure the Eotech and Aimpoint are excellent, but they are also twice the price.

Getting gen 1 or 2 kobra sights is hard as they are old tech. Getting the gen 3 sights is easier and you get a better optic. Kalinka has them.

Forgive the ignorance in my question, but what is the difference between the generation 1 and 2 Kobra sights. Do you know if Kalinka ships to Canada??

From what I understand the gen 3 optic has updated electronics including the use of a AA battery. Yes Kalinka ships here.
