I mistakenly posted this on the Black and Green Rifles forum.

Does anyone have any experience with this rifle?
I’m expecting SKS reliability, battle accuracy and hoping the LAR magazines feed without issue?
Anybody?

I had one, they work as advertised.

But- they are sort of a a solution to a probem that needed solving some time ago, and not so much now- A non restricted that uses LAR mags. I don't think Kodiak is producing them anymore, but not sure.

They are basically a SKS housed in a chassis. This doesn't seem to improve the accuracy, so SKS accuracy. They take LAR mags without further modification, so that's nice. They also have a rail on top for easy optic mounting, also nice.

Drawbacks are that they are heavier than a stock SKS, feel a little clunky, and as takedown is pretty involved, forget about using corrosive ammo unless you just really like taking apart guns to clean.

Thanks for this.
Helped my decision.

I have one, i have stripped 2 of the takedown screws on two different occasions, so marked the receiver a little getting them out, after the first one....i emailed Kodiak and they sent me a little replacement screw set, which i very much appreciated... There is an order to taking it apart and putting it back together again....it is a little involved for noobies...I only shoot NC ammo out of it so i don't take it apart all that often, every 3-4 range trips...shoots the palm of my hand out at 50 yards, opens up a little at 100 but hits the silohuette gong at 100 pretty consistently which is a good time....the LAR mags function....I bought it for 599$ on sale from TraDex when they were clearing them out.....Spoke with Kodiak at Gatshow 2018 last summer and they said they weren't making them anymore......i think its a cool rifle with neat features and Canadian made....there are things i would have done different on it had it been mine but is fun...none the less....

I had one for about a year now, it is heavy shooting on the go, but mostly great standing still. Takes LAR mags no problem, had a feed issue once a while but it's normal. The only "complaint" if that, is that the casing hits the top of the ejector opening so there are tons of little nicks, so a bunch of white spots on otherwise a beautiful gun.
