Kodiak Defence SKS/KD in wood stock econo model.....

A $500 SKS? It's still 5 rounds and AK mags aren't that plentiful. I don't see the point. Won't the Tapco mags do the same thing?

Looking at the price now it doesn't seem to unreasonable and I think some people will buy them. I'll stick with my D's though.

Ill stick with my D as well :)

Does anyone know if these SKS's work well with chinese AK mags? Like the 5 round shortys for the SKS-D's?

All my factory 5 rounders work well but cause me grief once in a while. But The Magpul AK mags are more reliable.

They work fine on mine but with 5 rounds in them there is no extra give in the spring so can't seat mag home with the bolt closed. I just pull bolt back and it snaps into place, let go of the charging handle and have one ready to go in the chamber. Not a problem for me at the bench but could see it being a hassle for someone freestanding.

Thanks ljones,

I have to do the same thing with my MC5D...pull the bolt back before inserting the mag.
