The kolpin gun boot is by far the best tool available if you want to damage a scope or knock your gun off of zero.I speak from experience as I have seen two scopes damaged and several having the zero wander after using the gun boot.The reason for this is that the scope bottoms out in the gun boot before the barrel,so the scope must hold all of the guns weight and absorbs all of the bumps and impacts that are encountered.If you insist on using this product,stuff the barrel channel with material until the barrel bottoms out before the scope.
