Konus or Vortex 20-60x80 power spotting scope

Ya I get the buy once cry once thing,.but there are those of us that dont have a spare mit full of cash ........so unfortunately we have to stick to a tight budget

The best bang for your buck in high-end spotting scope is the Meopta S2. You can find reviews online and you will see nothing equals them. The Canadian F-Class team wind coach uses the S2.

what are your thoughts......am looking at either the diamonback or the konus konuspot
who has used them?

I have the diamondback. Found it on kijiji for $350 I thought it was a good deal because even if something was wrong with it the warranty was there. I use it at the range and for me its perfectly suits my use out to 200 yards.

I do not have any experience with the other brands you have mentioned.

If it was for hunting and glassing in BC or Alberta, the diamonback I think it might fall a bit short. I have to add I don't have the best eyes to begin with. I wear contacts.

If I was using it for hunting I would wait until my budget was bigger to get a razor from vortex. In the field lots can happen and the warranty to me is priceless. There may be better glass but the warranty makes up for it.

I have never looked at the viper in a spotting scope. I do have two razor scopes on rifles I use and I think they are very good too. So I would assume the viper would be good as well and not as expensive as the razor.

Hope this helps.

Ya it would be nice to know exactly what you are going to be using it for.

I had a Vortex Viper HD 15-45x65 but I recently found an awesome deal on the Razor 20-60x85 and had to buy it. I can honestly say that it is a night and day difference between the two (almost literally). I have already used my Razor for glassing deer that are over a mile away and being able to identify small details on their antlers.

Optics are one thing in this world where I firmly believe you get what you pay for. That isn't saying the Diamondback wouldn't work for you, I'm just saying the Razor is likely way better but again, it depends on your intended use.
