The final ORA Vintage Match was shot on Saturday. The weather was perfect, with just enough steady wind at 300 yards to require a hold off of at least a foot.

A full range of rifles were seen, with some shooters using two or three rifle over the day. I noted a P14, a Krag in 30-40 (which shot very well), 2 Garands, 2 M-14s, 2 SKS, 2 CZ858, an FR8, Rem 700 in 223, and a #4.
At 100 yards we shot prone zeroing groups followed by a 10 shot deliberate match 910 shots in 5 minutes).

Then a sitting snap match of 10 exposures of the charging Hun of 3 seconds.
Then a repeat of the snap, except the Hun walked left or right. Surprisingly, the fact that the target was moving did not reduce the scores very much. Everybody was getting hits.

Then we moved back to 300 yards, to shoot alongside the students in the ORA Introduction day course. We shot all matches prone. This was a deliberate, a snap, a rapid, and another mover.

We will repeat the Vintage program next year and once again invite Gun Nutz to join us. I hope to have at least some dates when we have the range to ourselves, so we can shoot more matches at 100, 200 and 300 yards.

I encourage other Rifle Assocations to schedle shooting events suitable for Gun Nutz and to invite them to shoot. Many Nutz have not shot past 100 yards and enjoy discovering that they can hit what they aim at 200 and 300 yards.

Sorry for the paucity of pictures. My camera failed.

Where was this shot? Looks like Camp Borden where I lived from '77 to '81 (rose to the dizzying rank of Corporal while there).

I was asleep at the switch, because I didn't know about it, but if it's not too far, I'd be happy to organize a car-full of shooters from the Ottawa area who frequent the EOHC Milshoots to come down and conduct a shooting clinic for you guys next time. ;)

You're free to come up here and try to do the same of course. :p

Yup, it was Borden. I was all set to come, but had a last minute conflict and could not go.

Oh well, always time next year. Looks like everyone had fun. Lets see some more pics.
