Hi Guys,

picked up a Krag Jorgensen at an auction for a cheep price, was missing the trigger guard and the butt plate but turns out its an awesome rifle. Got me to looking into them more, and seeing as my grandparents are Scandinavian developed a liking for pieces from thereabouts. Per my research the Krags at one point were "common" but I can hardly find any around these days... anyone know a place that stocks parts or where they regularly see them for sale?

Cheers

As a K.J.owner of >2, my advice is: Buy a second one. Then a third. These rifles are a steal at $250-350 for a sporterized version.
Parts are otherwise almost unobtainium. Very rarely you might see a part on the EE, and you may find parts at Sarco or Numrich.

I have three of them; one in 6.5, one in 30-40 Krag, and one that was converted to 308 Win. Incredibly smooth actions.

Great rifles.

I have a real nice Springfield Krag that looks to be unfired. Enjoy.

I've had several Krags, but this 1899 carbine is my keeper. Interestingly, 1899's are the only carbines not faked, because it was the only year long rifles weren't made.

Awesome guys - i checked milarm in edmonton today and they occasionally get them.... last one was a carbine and sold in 10 hours of listing it..... for 2400 dollars!! Wow.... I am guessing from the consensus so far that the trick is to buy every one you see!
Curious tho on posts above - i was under the understanding that Krags were a Norwegian design and build... didn't know that Springfield built them? Anyone else build them?
