Krico Rifles...

Anybody own/shoot one or have experience with this German made (now discontinued) rifle? I inspected/cleaned a nice Model 700m for a friend recently (didn't shoot it) and am interested in any comments a fellow CGNer may offer.

Thanks.

They are nice rifles. My son has mine now. Model K 603 in 243. It will shoot factory win ammo 5 in a dime size hole.
Smoothest bolt I have ever used. Tell him not to lose the mag if it has one. I was looking for a spare for mine and they are big bucks. Hard to find also.

The bolt is not only smooth, but flat on one side, on the 700 at least. The flat side is never revealed until the bolt is removed from the rifle as when it is cycled it does not rotate enough to show. I wonder if this is a design feature or to conserve weight. My friend has a magazine with his rifle, but would like to have a spare. We are looking now. Not holding our breaths. :)

I owned one about 4-5 years ago in a ought-06. It was very accurate and sold it to a fellow CNG. Krico does not manufacture the model 700, however they do manufacture the Model 902. I believe that there is a Canadian dealer in Canada............ Londero Sports I believe.

From their website - http://krico.de/?language=en

"Out of the reason that the market for repeating rifles became too small to become profitable the production of the Model 902 has been stopped in 2005.

Since the year 2006 the Kriegeskorte GmbH is specializing in export, import and storage of hunting and sporting weapons."

No more manufacturing of firearms of any kind it would appear. High end sporting rifles is a much reduced market compared to the standard fare one would find in my safe. This would seem to have been their demise.

I would like to own one some day though. :)

There is a Krico 700 for sale on EE chambered for the 30-06. Its a beautiful firearm, however the price is jaw dropping.
