shooting? no...

Have you shot it?

No need. I've got several other well used Mauser pocket pistols (1914 & 34) I can use for firing, and this is not a target gun.
In fact, I would not dare firing this very one. It appears so intact internally, it just might never have been shot...
Subject pistols were provided to German Officers on warships/U-boats and HQ, and those gentlemen would rarely, if ever, be in such a situation they would have to use their pistol, even when having to surrender to a Canadian veteran...:)

Provenience would be much greater if there was a German Eagle with swastika proof stamp.

This Early Nazi Mauser issue of 800 only was followed by Variations 1-2-3-4, all bearing the German Eagle over swastica. Those ones will appear more attractive for several collectors, although quantities produced vary from 3,000 to 8,000. As a collector, I estimate scarcity and condition being the two main criteria.

For further consideration, I'll present an all-matching Variation 1 in my next post.
Thank you for stopping by.

Beautiful pistol. Thanks for sharing your pistols with us here. The clear and well taken pictures do full justice to your fantastic collection, Bruno38.

Check Nazi Variation 1 of Model 1934:

(sorry - for some reason, I am unable to copy the link to subject pistol. You'll find it under my name in my latest started threads)
